Agroecology and digital technology

"Agroecology and Digital: data, agricultural equipment, and genetic resources serving the agroecological transition and adaptation to climate hazards."

Contributing to the development of agroecology is the goal of the Agroecology and Digital research program, which is one of the measures of the SADEA (Systèmes agricoles durables et équipements agricoles contribuant à la transition écologique) acceleration strategy from France 2030. Co-led by INRAE and Inria, it has a budget of 65 million euros for a duration of eight years (2023-2030).

The Agroecology and Digital program aims to promote the development of digital technology in the service of agroecology by providing new knowledge to identify the specific digital developments required and analyze their impacts. This is intended, on the one hand, to promote frugality and responsible innovation and, on the other hand, to rejuvenate the attractiveness of the agricultural sector, particularly by reducing the labor's harshness.

The Agroecology and Digital program supports innovative research and infrastructure and offers multidisciplinary cross-cutting coordination involving all stakeholders (academic, private, public sectors). It contributes to the renewal of skills by training young scientists at the intersection of agroecology and digital technology.
